| | Mary Eva Tanner Croswell was born in Wisconsin on Dec. 5, 1870. Mrs. Croswell moved to southern California in 1903. During the 1920s and 1930s she lived in Santa Barbara and headed the art department at the State Teachers College. A widow, she died in Glendale, CA on June 28, 1953. | Source:
