Gazo Fujiyama is primarily known as Gazo Fudji

A signed painting has the signature Gazo Foudji, other sources use Fudji or Fuji.
He
was born in Tokyo, in 1853 and died in Yonkers on December 23,
1916. He
lived in Paris, was a member of the Beaux Arts, and was awared a medal
at the Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1900. He maried a
Frenchwoman.
In the U.S., he designed the pottery lines Fudji, Fujiyama, Rozane, and
Woodland for Roseville. Circa 1908 he became chief designer for
Duffne (showing 500 of 1351 characters). |
