This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Helen Schepens-Kraus was born in Spokane, Washington. Painting watercolor landscapes and seascapes of the Central California inland and coastal regions as well as nudes and floral still lifes, she painted in what is referred to as the "California Style". She exhibited widely in the Monterey and San Jose, California areas and was an artist member of the Carmel Art Association.

Heneln Schepens-Kraus spent the last twenty-five years of her life in Kennebunkport, Maine where she had a gallery.

Helen E. Schepens-Kraus was born in Spokane, Washington on January 5, 1916. She was active on the Monterey Peninsula into the 1960s. She then moved to Kennebunkport, Maine and established a gallery. She died there on September 3, 1988.
