R. C. Bailey
R. C. Bailey moved to Provincetown in 1957 with his family. Summers were spent watching the street artists and visiting those art galleries that had paintings of people.
In the summer of 1967, R. C. Bailey began doing portraits professionally at the Handcrafter Shop with three other "Street" artists , fresh from the World's Fair in New York. He continued doing portraits for the next thirteen summers. During that time he won a major award in the presti (showing 500 of 1168 characters). |
