This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Austria, Edmund Senn was a specialist early in his career in carving decorative stone work for buildings in Seattle, San Francisco and Portland and other cities in the Northwest as well as later in Texas.  A gas pipe explosion igniting kerosene in his Oregon studio caused him severe burns.

As an infant, Senn was taken to Switzerland where he was raised and educated. He also studied sculpture in Vienna, Paris, and Berlin before immigrating to the United States in 1902 and locating in Seattle.

From 1917 to 1919, he worked for motion picture studios in Hollywood, and about 1930, he moved to El Paso, Texas where he gave private lessons in his studio, and taught sculpture classes in the public schools.  He died in an El Paso hospital, and is buried in that city.

His stone carvings can be found in El Paso at the Loretta College Chapel, Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints, First Baptist Church, and the Municipal Golf Course.
