| | Alfred Gideon Sharp was born in Illinois on March 20, 1880. Sharp settled in Alhambra, CA in 1903. He worked in commercial art with his father, Francis, until 1922 and then abandoned art to operate the Big Rock Investment Company. He died in Los Angeles on May 29, 1963. | Source:
