| Chris Marie Meeker was born in France in 1898. Chris Marie was raised and educated in a convent where she studied art and lace making. By 1920 she was married to artist Russell Meeker and living in Chicago; however, the union ended in divorce. About 1931 she moved to Hollywood and was a stand-in for Greta Garbo.
