Biography from Altamira Fine Art:
Andree Hudson
Wildlife and Portraits

Andree Hudson's paintings, with her use of contrasting light and dark colors, are intended to invite the onlooker into the subject's innocent sensuality.  She paints with large, dramatic brush strokes to emit the life of her subjects, as though they live and move among us.  Her goal is to touch the viewer's soul with their very being.

Andree Hudson took her formal art training at the Maryland Institute College of Art, receiving her BFA in Illustration and Visual Communication.  Early in her career, medical professionals took notice of her talent for capturing skeletal and muscular form, and she was hired to do medical illustrations for textbooks and other publications.

However, Hudson's true passion is letting the beauty of creation speak for itself through her paintings of living form.

For each subject, whether child, adult, animal, or landscape, she tries to catch living in a moment of time; but it is a time of contemplative silence, of invitation to join that subject in a part of life's journey.  With those ideas in mind, Andree entreats each of us to join her subjects in their captured moments, to come away having related intimately with each piece.
