| Elaine Reiss (i.e., Elaine Reiss Cooper) 1923-2000
She was born, raised, educated, married, and worked in New York City most of her life. She received her art education at New York University and Institute of the Arts. She trained with such artists as Philip Reisman, Sam Adler, Will Barnet, and Stefano Cusumano. She participated in a number of local New York City private gallery shows, and with the Lawrence Jeppson Gallery in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD. While administrator of the medieval and renaissance studies center at Duke University she won a prize in a university art show.
Her career included major New York City law firms, Assistant to the Director, National Museum of Art, Washington, DC, and as an assistant in the West Wing of the White House during the Administration of Jimmy Carter.
