Marc-Antoine Bissiere, Louttre Bissiere (b.1926)
He was born in Paris in 1926, son of well known artist Roger Bissiere (1888-1964), who nicknamed him "loutre" (Otter). The younger artist adopted the name to distinguish himself from his father and establish his own identity.
He started painting in 1942. Early in 1944, under the name of Antoine Bissière, he exhibited his first works at the Galerie de France with his father and friends (Bertholle, Jean Le Moal, Manessier, (showing 500 of 1628 characters). |
