Maria Teresa Saldarriaga was born in Bogota, Colombia on August 10, 1954. At the age of 13 years old her career began as she attended the School of Fashion of Ines Gutierrez Yepes, a former employee of Coco Chanel and it is here that she started her first lessons in drawing.
In 1972 Maria began her studies in Social Communication at University Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogota expanding her knowledge about the arts especially into the art of photography.
