Gilles Marie Joseph Albrier, born 4 October 1791, Paris, died Paris, March 1863
Pupil of Jean-Baptiste Regnault , he exhibited at the
Paris Salon
in 1819, 1822, 1824, 1827, and 1836. Known
for portraits, contemporary or retrospective, as well as
landscape scenes and mythological allegories.
Albrier is quoted by Guy Isnard in his book Pirates of the
painting, Paris, Flammarion, 1955, (showing 500 of 1346 characters). |
