| Robert Shiroruro Kuwahara was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1901. Kuwahara arrived in Los Angeles in 1910 and studied at Otis Art Institute. He then moved to New York and turned to commercial art. He produced illustrations for the New York Times until 1932 when he returned to Los Angeles to work for Disney Studios. He painted backgrounds for Bambi, Snow White, and Fantasia. From 1937 to 1941 he produced animation projects for MGM. During WWII he was interned in an i (showing 500 of 711 characters). |
