Biography from American Eagle Fine Art:
Bill Riedell (b. 1925) painter, illustrator

Birth place: Anaheim, California

Addresses: Anaheim, CA, Los Angeles, CA, New York City, NY, Vista, CA

Studied: Art Center, Los Angeles (Now the Design Center in Pasadena, CA), 1947-51, under Gordon Mackey, Palmer Schoppe, William Reckless, Ed Reep and attended workshops by Brad Fragere, Sally Strand, Carole Katchen, George James, and Dan Burt later in his career.
Exhibited: Fallbrook Art Association, awards, Del Mar Fair, awards.

Upon graduation from Anaheim High School, Bill enrolled in the Army Air Corps in March, 1944.  Returning from service he attended Fullerton Junior College, 1946-47, then Art Center, 1947-1951 preparing for an Illustration and Commercial Art career.  Bill moved to New York City, NY in 1951 and worked in many studios until his retirement in 1992.  He is past President of the Fallbrook Art Assn., where he is director today.

His mediums ranged from all forms of watercolor and pastel.  He is a regional California Scene Watercolorist in the truest sense.  An example of some of his best works was done while taking a perspectives class at the Art Center in 1949 of Chinese New Year, Chinatown, San Francisco, which exemplifies his great perspective and great detail in one of the finest California Scene works of art that exist today.

Work: Fallbrook Art Association and many private and business collections throughout the U.S.
