This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Michael O’Keefe currently resides in Dallas, TX where he lives and works as an artist.  In 2003 O’Keefe moved to Dallas from New York in order to pursue an Masters degree in visual arts at Southern Methodist University.  In 2006 O’Keefe received his MFA and chose to remain in Dallas to continue his career as an artist as well as to teach at various institutions in the area.

O’Keefe currently teaches drawing at Eastfield College, and teaches both drawing and sculpture at Brookhaven College and SMU.  He also teaches drawing to architects at Corgan Associates, Inc., a prominent international architect and design firm located in Dallas.

Prior to relocating to Dallas, O’Keefe taught Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture for many years to high-functioning mentally ill adults in New York City with the organization HAI, Inc.

O’Keefe received his BA from Muhlenberg College in 1999. He also studied at the New York Studio School, the Maryland Institute, College of Art, and The International School of Art in Umbria, Italy. O’Keefe has shown his work at various locations in New York, Philadelphia, and Dallas.
