Biography from a third party submitted on 05/13/2011:
Shelly Singleton is a sculptor who strives for the viewer to “feel” peace instead of “see” peace, to “obtain” hope rather than “observe” hope.

Born in Texas, Shelly is the daughter of sculptor Gib Singleton.  She earned her education in fine art from Southern Illinois University and the Art Institute of Chicago, and through a lifelong collaboration with her father.  Shelly Singleton’s works are displayed at the top of Black Mountain in Arizona, the St. Louis Public Library, the Port of Miami and SoHo, New York where her mural covers one half of a city block.

Buyers of her art include former First Lady Barbara Bush, who purchased an oil painting commissioned by the Brock’s Chocolate Company and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who purchased a bronze sculpture that resides in his sculpture garden.  Shelly’s work has also been commissioned by such corporations as The Phoenix Suns, Caribbean Cruise Lines and Seimans.

Singleton works in many mediums, including bronze, steel, porcelain and clay, as well as acrylic, oil and watercolor paints.
