Biography from Tyler Fine Art:
Anne Radville Grimmer (American,  1910-2011)

Grimmer studied on scholarship at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1928-1932.  She worked as a WPA artist (as did her husband, painter Vernon Grimmer).  She was regularly included in exhibits at the Art Institute of Chicago (Artists of Chicago and Vicinity); she also exhibited at the Illinois State Museum: New Horizons in Painting and Sculpture; the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture (Chicago) in 2010, and the North Shore Artist League.  She worked as a commercial artist at Kirk-Teich in the 1930s, and taught art in the community (YMCA) in Highland Park, Illinois in the 1940s-50s.  Her daughter, Margot Grimmer, was a well-known ballet dancer in Chicago.

She typically painted abstract and modernist compositions.
