Leonid Mikhailovich Steele (b. 1921)
Born in 1921, Leonid Mikhailovich Steele is a noted painter of Russian Realist School of the Soviet Period known as “socialist realism.” Member of the Artist Union of USSR since 1958, he is known for his large multi-figure works, genre and landscape.
He graduated from Leningrad Repin Art Institute and participated in over 80 exhibitions including 11 All–Union Exhibitions, the most prestigious of all in the USSR.
