This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born November 8, 1934,  Robert L. Faulkner was a native of Western Springs, IL where Mrs. Ruth Test helped develop his early interest in art.  He went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1958.

During college he worked and studied in Provincetown, MA;  however, he made Western Springs IL his lifelong home.

Professionally Robert Faulkner was an advertising executive and a graphic designer who worked at several well known Ad Houses in Chicago before fulfilling his dream of opening his own creative arts agency in 1989; Bob Faulkner Corporation.

Personally, Faulkner was happily married to his college sweetheart, the father of three children, grandfather of one and great grandfather of two.  Throughout his life he continued his pursuit of fine art painting—producing more than 200 known works in various mediums.

He has exhibited in many art shows and fairs in Illinois and New England.  His dream of retiring to Northern Michigan to pursue his painting full-time was cut short when he died of colon cancer on June 17, 2007.  A point of interest is that Mr. Faulkner was the nephew of artist Lloyd Faulkner.
