Sid Ahmed Hamdad born 1948 in Sidi-Bel-Abbes (Algeria)
Educated as a drilling engineer, he had started painting in the early sixties under the direction of the Spanish master Carlos Alberto (winner of the Grand Prix de Rome), and was his student until 1968, when he received his degree.
Under the tutelage of the master, he participated in three exhibitions, two in 1965 and one in 1967; by 1969, he went to University where he created his own workshop, a workshop that he ran during his studies in Oran University
Between 2001 and 2003, he lived in France, where he was able to paint and exhibit, and finally returned to Sidi-Bel-Abbes in Algeria to open a workshop and worked with his son, artist Hamdad Bilal.
