This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following biography, submitted May 2012, is from Mark Moczorodynski, oldest son of the artist.

Mario Moczorodynski was born in Poland in 1923.  At the age of fifteen he fled the country following the German invasion of Poland to join the Polish air force in England. After the war he immigrated to Montreal Canada. He brought his wife to be, Margaret Jones and later settled in Calgary Alberta.

Mario, being a very determined individual, taught himself to read and write and received a diploma in chemistry.  Later he taught himself to draw and paint and was one of the first artists to be represented by the newly established Gainsbough art galleries in Calgary.

Carl Nickel, a prosperous oil man in Calgary, soon took note of Mario’s work and became his friend and patron. Nickel loved Mario’s work so much that he would give pieces as gifts to visiting celebrities such as Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.

Nickel commissioned Mario to paint a painting of Mount Kennedy, Yukon, which was named for President Kennedy and presented to Rose Kennedy soon after the death of her son, John F Kennedy.

Mario later retired to the Okanagan area in southern British Columbia. He is a registered Canadian Artist and presently is living in Enderby, B.C.  Due to illness he no longer paints.
Mario’s style was traditional realism in landscapes, and his subject matter was the Canadian Rocky’s and foothills of Alberta. Tortured by bouts of severe depression, his greatest love was to spend hours by himself in the wilderness sketching and taking photographs. Distinctive characteristics of his work were the development of tonal shading and the realistic use of earth tone colors. He greatly admired the work of the masters especially Rembrandt. A contemporary artist he knew and emulated was Roland Gissing.
