Born in Sandusky, Ohio in 1862, Emma Matern Weaver, during her early school years, showed a great talent in drawing. Her first art training was at the Brooklyn Adelphi College where she was awarded a prize during her second year of school. She later studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and for two years at the Art Students League in new York.
After her studies there she traveled to Holland with a sketching party, painting various landscapes and scenery. During the winter she was a (showing 500 of 1329 characters). |
