Bessie Marsh Brewer was an etcher, lithographer, illustrator, painter and sculptor. She was born in Toronto, Canada in 1883, and died in New York City in 1952. She was a student of William Merritt Chase, and Kenneth Hayes Miller and studied at the New York School of Design for Women and the Art Students League with Robert Henri, John Sloan, Joseph Pennell, Mahonri Young.
She became an illustrator for national magazines and exhibited at the 1913 Armory Show in the 69th Regiment Armory on (showing 500 of 997 characters). |
