Biography from B. Deemer Gallery:
I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio but spent every summer in Somerset, Kentucky with my grandparents. My grandmother was very influential in my artistic development since she herself was an excellent artist and teacher. She kept me motivated to work and study on my own until I majored in art at the University of Kentucky. After graduation I remained in Lexington where I studied with the artist Henry Faulkner. He provided inspiration and support and allowed me to participate in his annual local shows.

In 1975, I entered the Master of Divinity program at the Cincinnati Christian Seminary, graduating in 1978. My subsequent marriage and move to rural Kentucky provided a change in subject matter and focus. My husband’s family farm awakened an interest in the natural landscape. Our peripatetic lifestyle, living in various small communities throughout Kentucky, has furnished a wide range of subjects.

I am now relatively settled on the banks of the Ohio River in Big Bone, Kentucky. My recent work centers upon the landscape of northern Kentucky, especially its abundant wildlife. I also paint portraits of pets and greatly enjoy meeting new animals and their companions.
