Biography from Missoula Art Museum:
| | Jack Metcalf spent his youth in the swamps of the southeast smearing the line of where illusion ends and reality begins. His creations emulate a diary of sorts. The work balances draftsman precision with an ambiguous blather of imagination, insight, and delight. Metcalf studied architecture at Savannah College of Art and Design, printmaking at East Carolina University, and earned his MFA at UM. Metcalf’s work has been exhibited locally and nationally. He is currently active within the Missoula art community. |
