Alice Sternberg Valenstein was a painter known for her semi-abstract landscapes and interiors done through various medias. Born in February of 1904, Valenstein received the Arthur Wesley Dow Scholarship from Columbia University. She continued her studies at the Vienna Kunst-Akademie, and later with Winold Reiss, Morris Davidson, Manfred Schwartz, Victor Candell, and Leo Manso.
