Biography from Pritzker Military Library:
Artist James Conahan is originally from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. He has been a Chicago area resident for many years and currently resides in Naperville, IL. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles, CA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Conahan has won several Merit Awards from the New York Society of Illustrators, a Citation of Merit from the Chicago Artist Guild and Print Magazine Award of Design Excellence. His work has exhibited at the Daley Center in Chicago, and The Pritzker Military Library, and his art has been included in a Japanese National touring show.

The artist has served as co-chairman of the Midwest Air Force Artist Group since 2004. His credits include work for the top advertising agencies and publishers throughout the United States. Commissioned works include paintings for First Penn-Pacific Life Insurance Co, Lincoln Life and Annuities of New York and Robert Morris College.

Submitted by Teri Embrey, Chief Librarian of Pritzker Military Library, which hosted work by this artist and others in an exhibit "Don't Be A Dope!: Training Comics in World War II and the Korean War", February to August, 2012.  After traveling to Washington DC as part of the exhibit, work by this artist and the others will become part of the U.S. Air Force Art Program's holdings.
