This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Canton, China on Nov. 7, 1902.

Due to political upheaval Wing fled with his family to Hawaii in 1914.  He studied at the Mills School there and in 1922 moved to Los Angeles to enroll at the University of Southern California.  He soon became active with the movie colony and appeared as the Chinese cook in many two-reel westerns.

About 1934 he moved to San Francisco and ultimately became sought after as a portraitist by wealthy stockbrokers and bankers.  From his studio at 271 Columbus Avenue (above City Lights Bookstore) came Chinese mythological subjects, interiors, and still lifes.

Wing died in San Francisco on Jan. 21, 1993.

Exhibited: California State Fair, 1934; Golden Gate International Exhibition, 1939.

In: Shasta State Historical Museum.
