| Louis James Megas (1922-1986)
Colorado, Born in Denver, Megas studied at North High School, where Martha Epp headed the art department. While working as tavern owner he sustained a serious head injury and completed therapy at the VA hospital, where in1945 the field of art therapy was pioneered.
Megas turned to art full-time, studying at Opportunity School where in 1962 he won the Emily Griffith prize for a sculpture; he is known for his analytical sculptures akin to cubism. |
