Jaline Pol, whose name often appears as one word, JalinePol, is a painter who during a 30-year career, combines Realism and Impressionism painter.  She was born in Lille, France in 1946.  She has been influenced by many of the places where she visited or lived including France, Cameroon, New Caledonia, the Middle East and Bora Bora.

She studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. For her paintings, she chooses colors which are bright and intended to be daring. She also uses a myriad of warm tones hoping to evoke and provoke a happy mood.

Some of her bouquet paintings are almost monochrome in which she experiments with various tones and shades of a color, highlighting and reinforcing each one through the 'contrast' with another nuance. Her colors represent the seasons: spring yellows, summery reds, autumnal ochre and sienna, winter blues and whites. She intends these latter 'cold colors' to be particularly effective and create a reposeful, comforting ambiance, pleasing to the spirit.

Striving for tactile effect and hoping to give the illusion of three dimension with relief or a building up of paint, JalinePol works exclusively with a palette knife.  She has also taught palette knife technique at group workshops in her hometown of Lille.

Her style of Realism and Impressionism goes hand in hand with illusion and fleeting impressions. With her landscape painting, she wants to convey a sense of walking through a field of poppies, almost as if you can see the wind. Her style is inspired by the great masters of the Impressionist movement, but has evolved in a way she hopes gives her works a unique, original feel and touch and a sense of dynamism of marching armies, rippling waters, swaying cornfields and dancing flowers.
