This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on February 14, 1925, Clark Allen was an endlessly creative polyhistorian---musician / musicologist, a painter, sculptor, model-maker / nautical historian, a world traveler, an actor, linguist, and a highly regarded artists' model.  He and his former wife and lifelong friend, actress and dancer Margarita Cordova (1939- ), lived and studied in Granada, Spain, for more than a year before returning to Los Angeles.

They were founders of and entertained at El Cid, the renowned flamenco club, for more than 18 years. (In 1972 Clark was shot during a robbery at El Cid. His survival, after more than a year in the hospital, amazed his doctors.)

Vincent Price (1911-1993) began collecting Allen's paintings in the 60s.  While producing artworks for a number of collectors, Clark also worked in Hollywood and continued to perform locally, singing folk songs in several languages and then doing pencil and charcoal sketches of people in his audience.
