This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following information is from Mary Nowak.

Michael Ponce De Leon was one of my teachers at Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, NY.  I studied silk screen printing and photo printing techniques from him. He taught there for several years that I know of.  Of course, he also taught at the Art Students league as well as other venues.

One other noteworthy thing is that in 1968 he was commissioned by the UN to make an embossed intaglio print that went to the delegates of the UN. It was called There’s a time.  I own the artists proof for that edition.

He studied primarily commercial art, but applied those techniques to making fine art.  He influenced the work of Robert Rauschenburg among others.
