This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Toni Hambleton, born in Mexico City 1934, has been a resident of Puerto Rico since 1963. She has a BA in Fashion Design, 1959, and studied ceramics with Jaime Suarez, 1973.

She is a faculty member of the Art Students League of San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1976-1980, and is a Co-founder of Grupo Manos, a ceramic artists cooperative,  founded in 1976.

In 1980 she co-founded Candina House, a ceramic school and gallery where she was Co-Chair and Faculty until its closing in 1992.

Hambleton co-organized Candina House Award: Puertorrican Biennial of Contemporary Ceramics, 1988 to 2004, and Exchange 3 +2: Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, 1995-2005.

She is a member of the AIC since 1996, has had 10 solo exhibitions and participated in multiple collective exhibitions around the world.

Her work is included in the collections of museum in Puerto Rico, USA, Mexico, Japan, Hungary, Korea, Venezuela, Among Others.

Her public art Sentinels and Portal, can be seen respectively in San Juan and Caguas, Puerto Rico. She has continued teaching in her own studio since 1992.
