Biography from The Verner Gallery:
Allegory, figurative and landscape painter Daphne Vom Baur divides her time between Charleston and Warrenton, Virginia, after having lived full time in Charleston for many years. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University and studied at the London College of Art as well as the Brighton Polytechnic College in Sussex.

Vom Baur studied independently with Wolf Kahn and William Woodward and was a Visiting Artist at the Susquehanna Studio in Pennsylvania and a Fellow at Philip Pearlstein's Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida.

She has exhibited throughout South Carolina with solo and group shows at
the Gibbes Museum, the State Museum, the Anderson County Arts Center,
numerous Springs Traveling Exhibitions, and the South Carolina Women
Artists Invitational at Furman University.

She has shown at the University of Tennessee, the Susquehanna Studio, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the David Hamilton Gallery and at the Washington(DC) Gallery of Art. She served on the State Arts Commission Acquisition Committee from 1989 to 1991 and was a juror for the "Disasters" exhibition presented by the City of Charleston in 1989.

For the last few years, Vom Baur has concentrated on private commission
work and collaborated on paintings for the Vox Artis in Washington DC as
well as The Great Odyssey of Medicine for Invoa Hospital in Fairfax,

In 1999, her work was on the cover of the Washington, DC "Cosmos
Club Journal", and she is now the art editor of the journal. She recently
had a showing of her landscapes at the private Washington Hattis Gallery.
