Isabella Banks Markell - painter, sculptor, and etcher - was born in Superior, WI on December 17, 1891 but worked a good part of her adult life in New York City where she passed away July 17, 1980. She studied in France at the Fontainebleau in 1930 and at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts. In the United States she studied at the Maryland Institute in 1933 and 1934; the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1935; t (showing 500 of 3436 characters). |
