| Y.S. Lim was born in 1937 in Canton, China. Known for his watercolor, and oil renditions of the Monterey Peninsula and Animal subjects, he moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1956.
In 1965 he became an Artist member of the Carmel Art Association. He has been a member since that time, having served on their Board of Directors on several occasions. His wife, Irene Robinson, is also a long-time member of the Carmel Art Association.
Lim studied at the Carmel Art Institute under Monterey Peninsula Artist, and Teacher, John Cunningham. In addition to exhibiting his works at the Carmel Art Association Gallery, he has exhibited at the Santa Cruz Art League, the Monterey County Fair, the Yuba County Fair, the San Juan Bautista Annual Show, among many others. He has exhibited his works in Galleries throughout California and in New York, Florida, and Honolulu.
