| Best known for his Audubon-style watercolors, Carroll Tyson was a long-time resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who also worked out of a studio in Northeast Harbor, Maine.
He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and with William Merritt Chase, Thomas Anshutz, and Cecilia Beaux. He also studied in Germany with Carl Marr.
