| Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Charles Payzant studied art in Canada and England and in the 1920s at the Otis Art Institute. He later studied at the Chouinard Art Institute. In the 1930s and 40s, he worked as a commercial illustrator for Walt Disney Studios. He then began exhibiting with the California Watercolor Society and received mural commissions. He also served as art director for the "Dick and Jane" educational series for MacMillan Publishing and illustrated children's books written by h (showing 500 of 3487 characters). |
