| A long-time artist and art teacher in Chicago, Andrene Kauffman was on the faculty of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1927 to 1967, serving as a professor of drawing and painting and chairman of the Fine Arts division. In 1967 upon her retirement, she was awarded a professorship with honors---Emeritus. She exhibited in 25 of the exhibitions of the Institute and also exhibited in New York at the Whitney Musuem, the Museum of Modern Art and Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh.
