Born in Highland Park, IL on March 30, 1893. Ruth Peabody first studied sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago and was taught to paint as a child by her mother, Elanor Colburn. The two women moved to Laguna Beach, California in 1924 and became active in the local art scene.
At Ruth's studio she sculpted fountains and memorial plaques when not teaching privately and at Laguna Beach High School. During her early years she painted portraits, abstracts in the 1940s, and garden and f (showing 500 of 1542 characters). |
