Profession: Teacher, painter, illustrator, lecturer, writer, and decorator

Studied: Rochester Institute Technology; Art Students League; Emile Gruppe; Charles Woodbury; William Chase; F.W. Taylor

Exhibited: Rochester Art Center, 1920-52; Rationalists, 1935-45; Genesee Group, 1946-52; Finger Lakes Exhibition, 1941-43; Elmira, Cortland, Auburn, Geneva, NY. Awards: Rochester Art Center, 1938; Rochester Mus. Arts & Sciences, 1943 (fellowship).

Taught: Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY for 39 years serving as head of the Art and Design department until his retirement in 1952.

Member: Eastern Art Association; president of the Rochester Art Club during the 1920s and early 1930s; Iroquois Art Association; Memorial Art Gallery; Rationalists.

Work: National Gallery of Art; murals, Rochester Dental Dispensary; St. Monica's Church, Rochester, New York; National Gallery

From 1921 top 1952, Clifford Ulp was Director of the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. During his lifetime, he was a teacher, painter, illustrator, lecturer, writer and decorator.

He studied art at the Art Students League in New York and at the Rochester Institute and also was a student of Emile Gruppe, William Merritt Chase, and Charles Woodbury. Some of his murals are in Rochester. He was the author of articles for "Art Digest", the "Saturday Evening Post", and "Country Gentlemen".
