Comments: Classic Social Realist painting in the style and time of Benton, and slightly before the WPA program began. Wallis was born in 1897 and died in 1934, the year after this was done. He had already been in major exhibitions by then, and if he had lived, he would probably be known as a major artist today. This piece is in excellent condition, and comes in good original frame.
