Emigrating to the United States in 1866 from Germany, Adam Beck became a lithographer who specialized in city and town views around the country. He settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his name first appeared there in the city directory in 1873. Five years alter, he joined with Clemens J. Pauli and formed the company of Beck and Pauli Lithographing Company. Most of their printing of the city and town views was by J.J. Stoner in Madison, Wisconsin.
Beck's lithograph company closed in 1906 (showing 500 of 714 characters). |
