| | Born on July 6, 1885 in Sacramento, CA. Adele Barnes was a member of the first graduating class at the CCAC where she studied under Xavier Martinez and then studied architecture at UC. She designed houses in Oakland as well as rugs, screens, lamps, and bookplates. She wed Ralph Stackpole in 1912 and divorced him in the 1920s. Most of her life was spent in Oakland where she died on June 17, 1979. Exh: CCAC, Hotel Oakland, 1924.
