| | Born in Ontario, Canada on Aug. 5, 1869. Buchanan moved to the U.S. in 1871. He authored Seeing Miles City in 1915 and, shortly thereafter, settled in Los Angeles. He worked there for a newspaper in advertising and copy until his death on Dec. 24, 1941.
