| The following information was submitted by the artist's grandson Randy Kavner: In his work, Bonanno loved to depict the beauty of his native land of Italy through its birds, flowers and other images of nature. He executed murals of happy children in the grill of the Vanderbilt Hotel in New York City, twelve panels in the Cadillac Hotel, large screens for the Biltmore Hotel, and murals in many homes in New York City.
He taught art in Palermo, and continued at the Cooper Union Art School after moving to New York City in 1908.
