The following is submitted by Sarah B. Dougherty, Lexington, MA. She is the great niece of Alfred Bendiner.
Al earned his degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He traveled extensively with his wife, Elizabeth Sutro Bendiner, a native Philadelphian, throughout Europe and the Far East, and much of his art captures scenes of their travels. Among his collected works are a selection of restaurant menus which he liked to "enhance" (with his own whimsical artwork) while he (showing 500 of 1927 characters). |
