This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following information is from Julie Sasse, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Tucson Museum of Art in Arizona:

Alice Briggs is a Tucson, Arizona artist who creates installations, paintings, drawings, and graphics that are richly detailed and imaginative, often evoking the philosophical writings of Plato and the illustrations of Albrecht Durer. "The Industry of Memory" is a new mixed-media architecturally elaborated installation currently presented at the Tucson Museum of Art as part of their "Directions" series of exhibitions.

Born in Borger, Texas, Alice Briggs, received a Master of Fine Arts in 1981 from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Utah State University in 1977. She has taught painting, drawing, and other media at several institutions throughout the country including The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Utah State University, the University of Iowa, and Weber State University.

Her works have been featured in numerous exhibitions including venues at the Missoula Museum of Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Salt Lake City Art Center, Cedar Rapids Art Center and the Des Moines Art Center. Briggs has received grants from the Utah Arts Council, Utah State University, the University of Iowa Fine Arts Council, and the Ford Foundation.
