| Born in San Jose, CA on May 17, 1896. Following service in WWI, Bowles graduated from UC Medical School in 1925. He then established a medical practice in Santa Rosa, CA and painted in his leisure. He studied painting locally with Lorenzo P. Latimer whose influence is seen in his work. A highly skilled painter, his watercolors include scenes of the area around his home and the Sierra. Dr. Bowles died in Santa Rosa on Dec. 10, 1979. Exh: Sonoma Co.
