This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Amery Bohling expressed an interest in art from a young age. She drew with markers as a young child and progressed to pencil while in grade school. It wasn't until high school that she worked with watercolors. She attended workshops at Scottsdale Artist School in her teens and after graduation from high school she went to the University of Arizona to study art. While in college Bohling spent a year in France studying at the Marchutz School of Art. It was there that she took up oil paints.
Another teacher, artist Scott Christensen, helped her make the transition to professional painter. Scott worked with her on her painting and also tutored her on the business side of being a professional artist.
Bohling is a member of the California Art Club, Tucson Plein-Air Painters Association, and the Oil Painters of America.
